Funky Fresh Grow Op Juice Bar

Kilogram Studio
Fresh Air, Fresh Juice in Toronto’s PATH Labyrinth

150217_1510_2161When Kilogram Studio was designing the Grow Op juice bar on Toronto’s PATH concourse, it became clear that matching the healthy brand with an airy “green” environment would be a natural fit.

The space is a refuge from the cold tunnels built beneath office towers, and the shop is saturated with life, from planted troughs to stand-alone terraria that reflect a feeling of expanse in an area that could be confined and dreary.

Lucid Stead, a cabin built by Phillip K Smith III, was an inspiration, with organic lines of cracked wood juxtaposed with mirrors and lighting. Here, warm wood contrasts with the PATH’S glass, terrazzo, metal and stone. Locally sourced cedar blocks were assembled onsite.

The natural materials complement the Grow Op’s commitment to using many plantbased ingredients. Cold-pressed beet juice, anyone?
