Nourishment Bowls

_MG_7961It’s a fresh trend to not only display healthy, yummy foods in a striking way, but to also embrace the beautiful bowls themselves and create a “nourishment bowl.”

“I make well-crafted objects that people will want to use and hold in their everyday lives,” artist Daphne Farganis shares. “I like working with organic shapes and emphasizing the places they are slightly off-balance.”

Farganis slip casts porcelain using molds made from mostly natural objects, such as fruits, stones, plants, wood
and bone.

The potter’s one-of-a-kind wares, including sets of cups and bowls, are carried in stores, spas and restaurants, with prices ranging from $25 to several hundred dollars.

The handcrafted pottery by New Yorker Farganis is a favorite of Jeanette Bronée, self-nourishment counselor, emotional eating expert and author of the 2015 book “Eat to Feel Full.”

“I love Daphne’s bowls to eat out of, serve in or just have on the table,” expresses Bronée. “She has been making bowls and teacups for me for years. What’s more nourishing than a warm bowl of oatmeal served in a beautiful bowl?”
