James Paulius has created and designed Blockitecture, which comes in two series, Garden City and Habitat. Paulius found his inspiration for the Habitat series in Habitat 67, a project designed by Moshe Safdie for the 1967 World’s Fair in Montreal. While the product was made for Metaproject, an industry projects class at Rochester Institute of Technology, the blocks themselves were produced by Areaware, a company that is all about functionality, beauty and emotion.

Produced by Areaware and designed by Carlos Ng, this set is called Little Architect. Inside, you’ll find a ruler, triangle and protractor – the tools of an architect’s drafting kit. Ng designed Little Architect for a class called Small Things Matter at Parsons. Two percent of all proceeds for Little Architect are donated to Open Architecture / New York.
