Gold is pure and real, and it doesn’t tarnish like copper or silver. In this modern kitchen, it adds a cupful of luxury.
“We are huge fans of mixing metals,” says Elena Frampton, creative director of Frampton Co in New York City. “It creates a timeless and engaging space for the main area of this loft.” The island drawers are stainless steel and the appliances have a hint of gold trim on black knobs. The team chose black enamel for the front of the wall oven to keep the kitchen quieter and to hide fingerprints.
“The Calvin Klein Collection gold flatware is the jewelry of the space,” adds Frampton, a native of Southern California.
The vintage stools are leather to add texture to the sleek design, she notes, and throughout the kitchen, yellow cut flowers and white floral branches “bring warmth to the cool tone environment.”
