The home bathroom renovation of Laurie Blumenfeld Russo, owner and founder of LBR | Home.
MARBLE | “I knew I wanted a marble bath. I was inspired by the marble baths when on a recent trip to Italy. I knew my renovation needed to embrace a similar design. I did a fair amount of hunting, researching and dreaming. Eventually, I visited New York Stone on West 21st, and there it was, Calacatta Cielo Marble imported from Italy, boasting bold and beautiful striations in shades of Azule, sky blue, carmel, gray and brown! After much conversation with the owner of New York Stone, I learned that in 30 years of the marble business, he had never seen a slab with these colors. That was it for me, sold! I worked with the marble installer to create the perfect book match in the shower and to feature the blue stripe running through the middle of the entire space.”FITTINGS | “I chose unlaquered brass fittings from Newport Brass to keep the organic design scheme. The patina really complements the marble. His and her rain shower heads are both practical and romantic.”
FLOOR TILES & CUSTOM PAINT HUE | “I felt the floor and walls needed to be completely simple and to disappear, allowing the marble to be the star. The floor tiles are basic white from Porcelanosa, and I custom mixed the wall paint to blend perfectly into the floor tile color. We installed radiant floors and a towel warmer.”
